The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua joined other leaders for the official opening of the Kenya National Drama and Film festival at Kibabii University, with the Bungoma CountyGovernor H.E Wycliffe Wangamati as the Chief Guest.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mutua stated that the Board will use the festival to tap into the enormous talent among the youth for jobs and wealth creation. He was emphatic that the fete has contributed to the growth of the Creative Industry with talent, sighting the examples of Walter Mongare, Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki and Hon. Cleophas Malalah as alumni of the festivals.
In his remarks, Governor Wangamati appreciated the fact that theatre is serious business through which important lessons can be communicated and lucrative careers built.
“The one lesson learnt must remain – the flagging of what ails the society called Kenya and a clear path for rebuilding and entrenching positive social values among family, individuals, public officers,” stated H.E Wangamati.
