CHURCHES URGED TO EMBRACE SOCIAL MEDIA TO IMPART MORAL VALUES AMONG YOUTHS

The Board’s CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua has lauded the commitment by churches towards promoting moral values and urged church leaders to make use of social media to spread gospel and promote moral values among the youths.

Speaking during the Young Adults Ministry interactive forum at Eagles Christian Church International (ECCI), Karen, on 13th July, 2019 where he was the Guest speaker, Dr. Mutua encouraged the members to monitor children’s media consumption especially the internet.

He also stressed how strategic partnerships with religious organizations, learning institutions, private sectors and government agencies can come up with recommendations through which they can reach out to the public, particularly the youths with positive messages in relation to media content consumption.

“The Board is strategically partnering with religious institutions as key stakeholders for the ongoing media literacy programs that seek to sensitize the public on negative effects of consuming media irresponsibly,” He said.

In the same breath, he also addressed the issue of playing banned music terming it illegal. He emphasized on the need to join hands towards law enforcement.

“Law enforcement is not for government alone, it is a collective responsibility of each citizen,” Dr. Mutua said.
