The Kenya National Drama and Film Festival came to a close with a State Concert on Friday 12th April, 2019 with Deputy President H.E Dr. William Ruto as the Chief Guest. The Concert that took place at Kibabii University also saw other national leaders led by Bungoma Governor H.E Wycliffe Wangamati and the Education CS grace the occasion.
In his statement, President Uhuru Kenyatta as represented by H.E Dr. William Ruto, reiterated the commitment of the government to implement the Competence Based Curriculum. This will ensure that talent is identified and harnessed at a tender age. “As has been clearly shown by our artists today, it doesn’t have to be dirty to sell,” added President Kenyatta, pushing weight on the clean content campaign.
Dr. Ruto further lauded the efforts of KFCB through CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, urging the Board to move a step further and help nurture the talents identified at the drama and film fete. “Mr. Moral Policeman, I know you have done a good job and you need to do more and ensure these talents are harnessed.”
The State Concert was a culmination of the 60th Edition of the Kenya National Drama and Film Festival with KFCB as the Title Sponsor of the fete themed ‘Promoting Moral Responsibility among the Youth Through Drama and Film’.
