The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua has been elected the Vice Chairman of the African Film Content Standard Setting Steering Committee. The election came during the Think Tank on Harmonisation of Content Regulation in Africa in Johannesburg organized by South Africa’s Film and Publication Board.
The conference that featured leaders of Film Regulatory Agencies from across Africa aimed at spearheading the development of a harmonised legal and policy framework for content classification in the continent.
The position of Chair was taken by the Film and Publication Board CEO Dr. Maria Motebang. The other committee members are Thomas Adedayo of Nigeria, Humphrey Mpondaminga of Malawi, Alex Mahama of Lesotho, Collins Mashile and Abongile Mashele of South Africa.
