Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) was honored to host the Multi-Choice Talent Factory’s (MTF) inaugural Graduation, class of 2018 at its newly refurbished auditorium, Nairobi Film Centre (NFC) on 28th August, 2019.
20 students drawn from the East Africa region graduated during the ceremony that was presided over by Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and attended by Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, KFCB CEO and other government dignitaries.
In his key note address during the Graduation, CS Mucheru said the Government is putting in place the right policies for job creation.
The CS reiterated the Government commitment to promote the Creative sector, noting that it has the potential to create job opportunities for the youth.
He added that there is excitement about the Creative sector in the country and urged artists to create content that promotes Kenya’s culture and heritage.
In his remarks, Dr. Mutua reiterated KFCB’s commitment to support identify and nurture talents among the youth.
The CEO said that through the newly refurbished NFC, the Board is creating a facilitative environment for the youth to showcase their talents. He added that the Board will continue to collaborate with other like-minded State and Private agencies in promoting talents that conforms to the country’s moral values and national aspirations.
On his part, Kenya Broadcast Corporation (KBC) Managing Director (MD) Naim Bilal vowed to work with KFCB in promoting talents at the grass root levels through the Sinema Mashinani roll-out. He said that KBC will partner with KFCB to actualize the Sinema Mashinani and the Studio Mashinani projects across the country.
