Following an avalanche of complaints from members of the public who were enraged by the music video titled ‘Soko’ by Ethic Entertainment, the Board moved swiftly to file a complaint with Google to take down the video on the grounds that it promoted pedophilia and degraded women. We are delighted to report that we have now received formal confirmation from Google that the video has been taken down. We thank Google for this swift action. We are now following up with the security apparatus to ensure that the culprits face the law. In the meantime, the Board wishes to express its gratitude to the members of the public who brought this matter to our attention and supported our online campaign to have the unpalatable video brought down. We are in particular grateful to veteran music producer Tedd Josiah for his candid sentiments expressed in a video he posted online. We hope to work with such mature and responsible artistes to mentor the young ones to know that content doesn’t have to be dirty to sell.
