KFCB has launched a countrywide crackdown on PSVs playing pornographic content. The CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, MBS while addressing the media in Mombasa indicated that licenses are required for exhibition of content in public places including PSVs. Penalties for playing unlicensed exhibition of content in public service vehicles is Two Hundred Thousand or Five Years imprisonment.
KFCB will mount a crackdown on all public service vehicles screening such content against the law. The CEO indicated that PSVs were not broadcasters and that turning the vehicles into video shows and airing pornographic content is punishable by law. The Board is committed to bring sanity in the public service transport sector and ensure children are not exposed to inappropriate content.
