Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, MBS was the Chief Guest during the Kisii University Cultural Week Gala held on Friday 6th March, 2020 at the University Chancellor’s Pavillion.
The event organized by the Kisii University fraternity, themed ‘Harnessing Our Cultural Diversity to Enhance Productivity’ aimed to celebrate cultural practices from various cultural communities among the students.
Speaking at the Gala event, Dr. Mutua reiterated the Board efforts towards supporting the youth to nurture their talents with the aim of job creation in line with the Manufacturing Pillar of the Presidential Big 4 Action Plan.
The CEO added that students should embrace more on the creative industry for socio-economic empowerment, and applauded the organizers of the event noting that such forums explore creativity and enable the students to establish enterprises based on their creative talents.
He further appealed to the students to embrace clean content and be part of the process of championing for morals in the country.
Also present at the Gala event was the Board’s Clean Content Ambassador Walter Mongare (alias Nyambane) who applauded the institution for planning and organizing such events for the students, noting that Creative industry has potential to bridge the unemployment gap among the youth in our country.
